Starboard's New AirBorn SUP '' SURF Fish '' models

An ultra-thin shape that enables you to rip even when the swell’s barely there. Everything about the Air Born has been designed to achieve the best performance in any mushy waves. Its fish-style outline offers great shortboard carving.
The thin, high-apex rail lets the water flow around it, accelerating the board on the rail. This gives you the feel of riding a steep barrel wave.
This ultra-thin profile allows the board to flex more and store all the energy ready for release on your airs or cutbacks.
Comes in three Sizes...    Two 7-10's at  31.5 and 30 wide  and 7-4 x 28.5

For those looking for ultra-high performance and stability in small surf,

the Air Born 7’10’x31.5’’ has all the characteristics of the 30’’ board and more. We traded 1/10 of an inch thickness for 1.5 inches of width, keeping almost the same volume. This ultra-thin profile allows the board to flex more and store all the energy ready for release on your airs or cutbacks, while providing extra stability and control. This is the ultimate performance fish.

The Air Born 7’4’’x28.5’’ is a scaled down version of the Air born 7’10’’x30’’ to allow lighter or highly-skilled riders to optimize sessions where swell isn’t very big. Everything about the Air Born has been designed to get the best performance in mushy waves. Its fish-style outline offers great shortboard carving.
The thin, high-apex rail lets the water flow around it, accelerating the board on the rail. This gives you the feel of riding a steep barrel wave.
This ultra-thin profile allows the board to flex more and store all the energy ready for releases on your airs or cutbacks.

I was able to see this SUP at the expo and was very light weight and felt really thin for a SUP  the flat bottom, relaxed rocker  and the added FCS center fin addition was to my liking since I'm a Truster or 2+1 fin surfer. Looks like a great surf sup for our waters however i was pushing its upper limits of floatation at my weight of 190 lbs ,,,,, this board displacement is 98 liters ,,,

Sunday morning Fun....

We had some fun small wind waves with the last of the long period swell that was greeted with offshore winds. The result was fun waves shared by a few friends.. Rick, Scott, Jesse, John and I traded and shared the small peaks. Always wanting the surf to be larger but being able to get out and ride, with friends is a gift..

morning glass

Some fun, little, clean waves this morning. John Heidel and I surfed on the south end of the island.. Was just a pretty morning. Full moon setting in the west, Sun rising in the east.  ''Sun and Moon session''... Had thigh to waist high waves for a couple hours.
Missed  JC,  but caught a few for him

Like these conditions...

The Starboard 8'-5'' Pocket Rocket in the Brushed Carbon construction  at 30'' wide,  pulled-in tail with the width more forward of center. 4.1'' thick at 130 liters. Weighs  15.8 lbs ....2+1 fin set up (quad option)  'Sea Deck ' deck pad. Has a flatter rocker than the  8-10 and 8-2 Wide Points. Its very loose on the wave but stable paddling at my weight  (187 lbs)  Love this board.Why...fits my style of surfing.. ''Bury the tail drive the rail ''

South end sunrise waves this morning..

Fun Sunrise surf down on the south end of the Island . Winds went light allowing the NE wind blown conditions to clean up..  Jesse and I snagged a few before the winds started blowing up again.... I was riding the new 8-5 Pocket Rocket in Brushed Carbon and Jesse was on his 7-9  Stu Sharpe .. I'm just loving the 2+1 fin set up on the  Starboard PR. It accelerates in the wave and off the bottom turn and its lower rocker allows speed and glide in the flat sections. The pulled in tail allows for maneuverability off the tail. '' Burry the tail, drive the rail type surfing.. '' Jesse trowing his gouging carves and a few big floaters off the rolling sections.. Fun Fun Fun...
