Stand Up Paddle benefits us , How?



Stand Up Paddle Boarding provides several health benefits. There are the obvious physical, mental and emotional benefits  as well as social aspect providing overall health..
Uses Certain Muscles
As you start paddle boarding, you will feel little tweaks in muscles you never realized you had! Different sports use different muscles, and the new stand up paddle boarder will be awakening muscles that don’t get much of a workout in general life. It won’t be long before one’s body becomes used to the regular use of these muscles, and the stand up paddle boarder will quickly find that they tone nicely, and contribute to an overall feeling of bodily strength.
Good Overall Workout
Wielding a paddle not only stretches muscles in one’s arms, but also tests out one’s torso. What a fun way to work on one’s six pack! The legs will also gain a bit of a stretch as one works on balance and turns. Apart from toning and strengthening the body, stand up paddle boarding does wonders for general fitness. Regular paddling and movement may leave one a little short of breath to start with, but if one sticks with the sport, one will be amazed at how quickly good fitness can be found.
Saltwater is Good for the Skin
If you are fortunate enough to live near the ocean, then this may be where you choose to stand up paddle board. Ocean water is naturally salty, and just being in saltwater from time to time can provide some good health benefits. One of these is a positive effect on the skin. Salt can help draw out toxins and dirt from the skin. While this is beneficial to all, those with temporary blemishes will see that saltwater is of particular benefit to their condition.
Refreshes the Mind (as well as the body)
We get constant reminders of how important exercise is to our general well being. Regular exercise helps remove the internal cobwebs that can leave us feeling lethargic and unmotivated. Working up a sweat is important as far as getting the blood flowing and the heart pumping. Sweating can also help clear and refresh the mind. One should normally feel pretty good and have a pretty clear head after the workout that stand up paddle boarding brings. One advantage of getting a workout in this manner is that the heat one normally builds up in exercising is negated by the refreshing cool of the ocean.
Social Benefits
People’s overall health and well-being can also be affected by how we interact with others. This sport is a great way to meet new people, and also to share fun with existing friends. The enjoyment everyone can take from stand up paddle boarding is sure to keep all participants in high spirits.
This is why I paddle.. Hilton Head  has  small waves so I'm able to have more water time between swells and plus its a great way to make a living.
