Gerry Lopez surfed Uluwatu in 1974 when the lineup was as clear as the water and the Santosha living lulled many surfers into never wanting to leave. Those were the days...

Regular Bukit pilgrims will confirm that you can tell everything about how Bali has changed from looking at the development around Uluwatu and Padang. And returning after 40 years for a yoga retreat, how would Gerry respond to this bustling reality? 

The More Things Change, follows Lopez as he teaches yoga while rediscovering a region close to his heart. The vibe's always positive with Gerry and although the place has evolved dramatically, the people, waves and culture, that resonated with him in the first place, are all still there.

To celebrate the release of The More Things Change Patagonia have released a 100% recycled boardshort inspired by the camouflage patterns Gerry used to paint on his surfbaords at G-Land to reduce the searing glare of the Indonesian sun.

We received a long period swell in the 2 ft range and it coincided with warm temps, Not bad for January surf just needing booties, Fun with Buds.

Worse part was making the decision of which board to ride.

SUP fishing in the Flats of Florida

Down with Dad as he recuperates from jaw surgery and was able to get out and fish in the flats/ Mangroves in the Gulf.  In 6 inches of water Red Drum were all over the flats hitting the Storm lures, About a mile out from Hernando Beach Fl. Great weather for a fun afternoon with the incoming tide..

a few from Wed/ Thurs little swell

Little swell graced our shore to break up this summer flatness.. Just felt good to ride and glide on something... Tropics becoming active lets hope late summer and fall can produce some much needed surf.

In case you forgot, 2015 gave us one of the finest SUP movies ever created. The film aptly named, The SUP Movie, showed the world just how radical standup paddleboarding can be with an all-star cast including Kai Lenny, Izzi Gomez, Sean Poynter and many others. To top it all off, the folks from Poor Boyz Productions ended up taking home top honors in the Movie of the Year category at the 2015 SUP Awards. To sum it up, it was a damn good movie. While it has been available on iTunes for purchase since last year, the film will now be available to everyone for free courtesy of Red Bull TV.

Been a while to SUP Surf

Was good to get in the surf the other morning. Busy working and finding time has been a challenge. . Will always have a connection to the water and surfing...  MAHALO 

Tues evening, small weak but got wet.

On the new 2016 7-8 Hyper Nut  Getting use to this board. A different feeling under feet but it generated speed and thats what you want on our small gutless waves.. Here are a few moments from yesterday. However I'm disappointed with the new GoPro. It holds too much water droplets on the lens.. Tried all the remedies  avoid water droplets... The old Hero 2 was much better. I may have to find an older one. EBay / Amazon  search ..
