Paddled to the top of Broad Creek

Karen and I paddled to the top of Broad Creek. The last half mile of the paddle was narrow winding creeks full of water fowl ending up at the Mathews Drive Pipes. We started from Shelter Cove and headed north3 - 3 1/2 miles to the top of the Broad Creek. Was a beautiful day, 70*f , sunny, light winds and not a soul on the water. We saw one boat motor out of the harbor and couple of Kayak paddlers way- way down creek . With the lack surf today the 3&1/2 hour flat water paddle with the incoming high tide, allowed us to trek up into the little feeder creeks all over the marsh. Seeing some of the areas not accessible to most. Was a great expedition on the fourth day of the New Year.
