Good friend Tim Neil, ''Beach Break Grill'' had his son Cooper entered the classic
surfboard and longboard events held at
'Isle of Palms' SC. this past Saturday. Cooper borrowed one of my classic surfboards a 1967'
9'-6'' Hansen Master stepdeck model. He placed 7th out of 24 entered in the classic surfboard event and 2nd overall in the longboard event. Great job Coop' ...I wanted to paddle the ''SUP'' event but work prevented me from entering. Next time.

Charleston Watersport Outfitters Fall Surf Expo - Isle of Palms Charleston County Park - 11/1/08

We’re proud to announce the first annual Charleston Watersport Outfitters Fall Surf Expo at the IOP Charleston County Park on November 1st, 2008Included in this event we will hold The Joe Hiller Longboard Surf Contest. This event will include all the regular heat line ups and will also include a few new heats:
+ Classic Longboard Heat - All Participants must use a pre-1970 Longboard - This is an open heat.
+ Stand Up Paddleboard Heat - The FIRST in South Carolina - This is an open heat.
+ Surf Kayak Heat - This is an open heat.
Registration is available at the store and online.
Along with this we will offer Stand Up Paddle, Surf and Surf Kayak Demos all day! This is a great chance to get out and try the new equipment and talk to the manufacturers reps.
We will have manufacturer reps on site from Maya, C4, Owen’s Oceansport, Kaenon Eyewear, Honolua Surf Co. and Ocean Kayak and many others. These reps are here to answer your questions and provide professional advice.
We will also offer event discounts to those who attend and are interested in making a purchase during the event.
During this event we will be holding a raffle with great prizes, all contest and raffle proceeds will benefit The Surfers Healing Foundation; www.surfershealing.org
