Last of the Irene swell

Early Sunday SUP waves with the leftovers from the Irene swell. Small thigh high waves with a light Easterly wind. Sets lined up a bit into the high tide . Nice little warm down ride and glide waves from the last 3-4 days of swell.

Love getting up early before the sunrise and paddlesurfing .

Some GoPro shots from early this morning. Jesse, Seppe ,Heather Scott and I having fun in the
3 ft glassy post Irene waves . Notice the feeder bands from the backside of the storm giving us offshore winds and SUPer fun waves.

I swam out with my Fuji to take some shots of Jamie and Pat snagging some clean waves as we all had fun . Thanks Irene . I had a special connection with this storm. Irene is my Moms middle name . Even though she's been fighting cancer she's positive and always giving .. Thanks Mom LUV YA..

Choppy, Windy and Feederbands comming ashore

Was real choppy and sideshore winds at 15-20 knots, Lumpy with some overhead sets . A few tempted to venture and were rewarded with a wave or two but not with out struggles and effort in the ''victory at sea'' conditions. Forecast suggest wind to clock around offshore later today for the surf to clean up... Stand Up would of been real challenging..

Here is the wind forecast for 6 am Sat NW winds at 20-25 kts .. = clean fun waves...

Pre Irene Swell ....

We had the buoys jump early in the morning from 2ft at 5sec to 4ft at 12sec in three hours allowing the Irene swell to grace our beaches. We had waves fro waist high to a bit over head on sets with long lines some closing out. Its a shame our beach cant hold 4-5 ft swell. We have all beach break due to a flat sand bottom. Long sets close out . A few gems were had and they had size and speed. Dont know what the next couple days will bring but today was O so fun..

The new PSH 9-6 WAA handled the waves and it was nice to have confidence under your feet dropping into some of these beach break thumpers...

Jesse, Giuseppe, Heather, Pat and I surfed in the thigh high waves. Jesse had is pole cam and scored some unique shots. May not been the best surf but sharing with friends is PRICELESS...
