Glassy small clean waves w/ Friends

Waves were fun as little clean lines after yesterday's larger surf session. The strong offshores blew the waves small but being on a Stand Up makes these waves great to paddle on.. Seppe, Scott, Heather, Duncan, Jesse,James and I had fun paddling as the sun greeted the day..

Hunting island State Park..

Early Sunday morning we dropped of the boys from;

Mike Simpson and Will Rich left Hilton Head on Thursday and made it to Hunting Island State Park. Due to the weather delay, wind and a small craft advisory for late Fri and Sat, I went over to pick up the boys and brought them back to Hilton Head for some good food, rest and relaxation. Today they headed north to Edisto Beach and on forward to Maine their final destination. Follow them on their site. SUP THE COAST..

Seppe and I stayed a caught some little knee high waves that were left over from yesterday's wind.. Looks small but thats why Stand Up makes even small waves fun..

SUP THE COAST visits Hilton Head

Stand-up paddling the Eastern seaboard is something Mike Simpson had been thinking about for over a year with friend Will Rich. "We didn't want to just do it for selfish reasons," Simpson said. Simpson and Rich started their journey in Key West, Fla., on March 1 and will finish in Portland, Maine with a goal to raise awareness and money for the Wounded Warrior Project, a national nonprofit organization that aids injured military personnel, and Stand Up for a Clean Ocean, an organization based in North Carolina dedicated to removing trash and debris from beaches. Yesterday and today Mike and Will hung out here and headed North toward Hunting Island. Today Giuseppe and i Paddled with Mike and Will the length of Hilton Head before crossing Port Royal Sound. Awesome guys for a awesome cause.

Met them for the first time but it seems we've known each other for ever. The brotherhood of fellow watermen..

You can track their progress too from their site..

Here is the local interview from the our local newspaper.. The Packet

Got lucky for an hour, knee to waist high Surf

Having strong onshore winds overnight and early today the wind went WNW cleaning up the surf just after high tide. Heavy offshore 25 knot winds knocked the surf down in 90 min from stomach high sets to knee dribble. Seppe, Jamie Pat, Jesse and I happen to get it . Right moment at the right time. Below are some shots from my GoPro and Jesse's GoPro cameras.

My GoPro board video clip view of the little head dip. See Jesse in the bottom right Same wave, same moment but from Jesse's camera looking from behind the wave..
